Restaraunt website evaluations

Wagamama

Wagamama Asian Restaurant. Appealing use of colour, which works well with company logo. However Its diffucult to recognise It as a food restaurant, with the use of meatallic colours and bold navigation bar it looks more suited for a business firm.
The navigation Is easy to use. And the option to find your nearest Wagamama's Is very useful. It brings up the full address as well as an image from google maps.

TGI Friday's

TGI Friday's American restaraunt- bright homepage, the background is simple but effective because of the bold colours. There Is a flash banner on the home page only, and it works well with the website because it use the same colours and background images and the rest of the site.
The navigation is clear and easy to use, and unlike the other site you can book online.
The only issue I found was the lack of flash use, there Is only 1 flash banner on the site, but the use of lots or imagery still make all the other pages appealing.

Shimla-Pinks

Shimla pinks indian restaurant. Bold use of colour, the pink makes the site recognisable and is the obvious choice of colour. The navigatino is consistent on every page and which makes It easy to get around the site. All the neccesary content is there such as contact details, where your nearest restaurant is and an online menu.
But the pink Is very bright and becomes diffucult to look at after a while. The font used doesnt work well for a restaurant website and the low quality images make the site look a bit cheap and tacky.

Frankie & Bennys

Frankie & Bennys New York Italian restaurant. Good colour scheme, black, green, red and white are the colours of their logo and are used consistently throughtout the website. Navigation is at the top of the page and is easy to use.
But the homepage has a lot of contentwith some a bit uneccessary. Such as the option to but their cd's in the main window. It would be more appropriate to have information on the business or thier menus instead.

Nando's

Nando's homepage. Good colour scheme, they use the same colours as they do in the restaurant and makes the site easily recognisable. All the items you would want on a restaurant site are here, such as a menu and a search option to find youre nearest Nando's.
Also the main window has a simple flash image, that shows different photos of different restaurants, which makes it more appealing to look at for the user.

We had a session were all the class viewed eachothers work and gave feedback. I recieved some good comments, most saying they liked the simple navigation and graphic design. I tried to use my graphic skills for this project so it was helpful to know people liked it.

Webpage- final page layout

My final page layout, I wanted to keep it simple to use for the user but also unique. So I decided to put the navigation bar at the bottom rather than the top, and also the main content on the right.
